YESO with Nugall alliance organizations conducted different activities during the 16 days activism
The 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence is an international campaign that starts on 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ends on 10 December, Human Rights Day. The 16 Days Campaign brings the human rights framework to the heart of its work and utilizes it to ensure that both state and non-state actors are held accountable for acts of violence against women.
2014 Theme: “From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Let’s Challenge Militarism and End Violence against Women”.
Unlike before, in 2014, members of NUGAAL Alliance Organizations include SAMAFAL, KAALO, RDI, TASS, MUQAAL, FAWASOM ,DARYEEL, TIDES, YPEER, MAATO KAAL and YESO to gather with MOWDAFA came up with initiative to coordinate and collaborate with all interventions aimed at campaigning 16 days activism some contributed funds while others volunteered and provided working teams. MOWDAFA played a leadership role in directing these efforts. This joining hands cooperation resulted attention of media, influenced leaders and decision makers at different level to take actions towards reducing all acts of violence against women.
We mark our efforts advocacy on the intersection of gender-based violence and militarism. Militarism continues to be a key source of gender-based violence, and grave consequences for the safety and security of our society as a whole, including women, children and men.
